Where do children come from?

wedding2

As often as not, it starts here, with a young couple--a new family--walking down the isle and out the door into the beginnings of a new life together.

A life into which children will, sooner or later, be introduced.

The picture above is of our Senior Producer and his wife who were 'just married' twelve years ago this week. They've since added four babies, aged 8, 6, 4, 2, to the mix...

Jordan (8) Sarah (6) Sam (4) and Zoe (2) Cantelon @ Whistler...

And they (like anyone else who has kids) will tell you that life is one thing pre-kids and another thing altogether post-kids.

Raising babies is the hardest and most glorious thing you'll ever do.  A large part of that glory is found in the death of self that parenting inflicts upon you.

Parents who don't die to self become 'bad parents' and produce broken children.  Parents who manage to die to self become heroes (the ones always being thanked at awards ceremonies and weddings...) who send productive, well-adjusted, children out into the World...

To change it.

It all starts somewhere.

And today, with RAFFI as our guest, we remember the importance of honoring the 'results' of walks down the isle.

Peace.
