Will the Olympics matter?

The 'Winter Games' at our house...
Cool show for you today.
Mayor Sam Sullivan is back and he's going to talk about the Olympics from his perspective. As you may know, Mayor Sam shot to Worldwide prominence after accepting the Olympic flag at the end of the last winter games. Today he'll talk about that journey.
We were buying milk the other day and noticed that even the local newspapers in far-flung towns are starting to use the 2010 games as a marketing hook.
It's coming.
So we thought we'd ask some questions about it, and see what people, experts and normal folk alike, are thinking re: the impact the games are going to have right here in our own backyard.
He's a quote we're going to use on tonight's show. Thought we'd give you a little teaser:
"The Olympics had no discernable impact on (Chinese) investment figures...for years now, many Western companies have wanted a slice of the Beijing Olympics pie, and some may have won contracts to supply products or designs. But in the overall scheme of foreign direct investment into China, the contribution is minimal."
Now, granted, you can't always trust a journalist but it's certainly food for thought.
The games, in all their glorious impact, tonight on TD.
