Man crushes...

Dudes on set...
(speaking to the 'dudes' here...)
How many friends do you have?
Like, real, honest-to-goodness friends who are guys. How many?
The sense we get is that, for the most part, men are less likely to pursue friendship with other men than women are with their girlfriends. And the question is 'why'? Because in our youth, most men have friends, often a group of friends, but at some point during the aging process those groups tend to split off into fractions as each guy begins to add responsibility and pressure with career and family.
But, the real question we're wondering about, is if competition is the real reason that many male friendships lose their vitality as the men involved get older. It seems like time and again men who were close begin to measure their self-worth against the successes and/or failings of the other and in that balancing act of comparison the relationship falls off-kilter.
Have you experienced it? Male members of our team certainly have.
And that's why today's show, featuring David Bentall and NHL great Ryan Walter, is so important. Today we explore the details of male friendship, what it means, what makes it work and why it breaks down.
It's our belief that, we humans, have been made for relationship and the thing is, no matter who you are, what sex you are, what drives you and how you spend your days, chances are you need a friend.
Here's hoping today's program might inspire you to pick up that phone and call a friend you haven't talked to in a while.
Hope you like our work today.
Peace.
