Planning and things you can't plan for...

THE BEGINNINGS OF A SHOW...
So above is a glimpse at the notes taken today to prepare for episodes 46-65 which we start shooting next week.
Today's conference call is, honestly the most important step in getting these shows done. What happens is our production team gets together on a three-way call, some of us on speaker phone and we talk through each guest and what they're going to bring to the episode they're slotted for. We take into account their biography--area of expertise, history etc...
We work to find the best questions to ask them and the quickest way to get to the good stuff.
We figure out how the different segments in each show will work together to begin to form the 'spine' of the particular episode we're designing.
Based on the charts that come out of these calls, we build the shoot schedule, the story design, the interstitial content, the streeters--basically everything about each episode.
We also do our best to find our way into the spiritual side of things with each guest--where it works--never forcing it--just doing our best to authentically search through the issue with that side of life in mind.
Before I wrap this up...
One of those 'fun' FYI's--and it's due to you.
Average daily hits to this here website are up 9% in the first three days of July.
Average daily unique visits are up 102%.
Pretty cool, especially the unique visits number since that means some of you are spending a bit of time here.
It's got to be the not-so-flattering shots from the makeup room...
Got to be.
