Green city...
So this is one of the things about Vancouver that sticks out to me, when compared to other cities.
Downtown is rife with green.
Almost everywhere you look, a row of trees, then more trees, then flowers, then trees.
A green city.
I was thinking about the way in which the 'green-ness' of Vancouver might affect its overall health. What got me thinking was the thumbnail shot for this episode--the pink flowers at the foot of the office building. I shot that on Burrard, downtown. It's the entry to an office tower--with this gorgeous pink carpet welcoming the workers each day.
And I got to wondering if they even notice.

Or the tree just north of 'Canada Place', the one that looks like it's been there since before the city sprouted up around it. Do people look at it and think about the created realm's enduring nature and our transience, or do most of us walk on by.
A city carefully crafted and yet full of beauty and pain regardless of our finest efforts--a city like Vancouver--ought to impress us in some spiritual way.
It's got to be more than just window dressing.
What are the buildings and the trees saying? How is your life 'dancing' with all the life around you in this town?
The mind-body link--for a city--for a person...
