Laura-Lynn's bio

behind the sheet

LAURA-LYNN TYLER THOMPSON

Laura-Lynn was born in Uganda, East Africa.  Her family was deported in 1973 by the evil dictator Idi Amin.  Her father was taken late one night from their home by army soldiers and they were given 48 hours to leave. Her father had witnessed the murder of the mayor of Masaka, Uganda, their town, only one block from their home by an army general.  It was unclear if her father would be released alive.  Her father, David Freeman was accused of being a CIA agent and deported and thankfully released to join the family in Nairobi, Kenya. Laura-Lynn then lived in Tuktoyaktuk, NWT for three years.

Now, comedic speaker and national television host, Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson, shares her charm, wit and wisdom every day on "The Daily with Mark and Laura-Lynn".  This show airs three times a day locally and 2 times per day across the country on VisionTV.

In her 8 year television career, she has interviewed fabulous guests like Dog the Bounty Hunter, Bill Good, Josh Duhamel (hit TV series, Vegas), The Barenaked Ladies, Henry Winkler, Jared Leto, Jan Arden, Brent Butt, Tom Green, Stedman Graham (Oprah's beau) and Clay Aiken, to name a few. Over 90 of her personal interviews have aired on the BIOGRAPHY Channel and she created
, directed and starred in her own mock reality show called "Coffee Shop Girl".  Her down to earth style and self-deprecating humor allows her audience to feel at ease and be inspired not to take life so seriously.

She has three children, one husband (currently) and a beautiful dog named Tennile. Through the ups and downs of a media profession, she has found her true purpose in remaining open, real and vulnerable with her viewers.  She shares the struggles and triumphs of her life in order to bring knowledge, clarity and wisdom through this mutually experienced journey we all call "life".
